LAG-4500
Industrial electric arc furnace maintenance machine designed around innovation and operation.
Leading the industry in innovation, design, reliability and power.
Introducing LAG Equipment’s LAG-4500 electric arc furnace maintenance machine. Using decades of experience and knowledge, LAG Equipment has developed a machine that prioritizes safety. From the ground up, innovation and design are the foremost considerations while keeping safety in mind. Using the latest technology, the machine was designed to work effortlessly to clear slag and debris around the shell of the EAF

Positioned on top of the furnace shell, the lining is removed quickly with minimum downtime. Multi-position legs allow the LAG-4500 to be fitted on most furnaces ranging from 75 to 350 tons. Exceptional reach of the hydraulic breaker allows the machine to clean the lower shell and around the taphole. Outfitted with various hammer attachment ends, the refractory lining can be pushed through the man-door of the furnace, allowing for faster clean-up. Operating via a radio control pendant, the LAG-4500 allows the operator to view and operate the machine at a safe distance.

The hydraulic and electrical supply lines from the power unit are run through the support beams inside two power tracks.

All hydraulic and electrical power supply for the LAG-4500 are mounted on the support leg structure.

The integrated counterbalance valve on the hoist cylinder makes sure if ruptures, the boom assembly will remain in place and not fall.

The radio control pendant is the machine's primary means of operation. An umbilical cord is supplied encase of emergency.
